UPDATE 7/9/19: Both Short and Long Course will add 1.2 miles to traditional course. No Water on Course except at start and finish (no access to our traditional water station due to construction). There is some lengthy off camber snow piles on the way down from Cecret Lake. Take it slow so you don’t roll an ankle. Bring Trekking Poles if you have them (we didn’t have them and did fine. It just might help you move faster thru the off camber sections and also help prevent slippage/ankle roll). Again take it slow! The video and map above do not show this additional mileage. It’s the same course but starting 0.6 miles down the road (east) in the Wildcat Base. Parking and Registration will occur here (first Alta Parking Lot near the Gold Miner’s Daughter) This is the large /main Alta Parking lot on the right as you come into Alta. The parking lot we usually park in next to the Albion Grill is closed for construction. Both the Short and Long Course will be each 1.2 miles longer due to this start. This additional 1.2 miles is in the flats

Course: Starting at the Wildcat Base, follow the rope tow road up past and under the Albion Grill (traditional start and finish), climb a mile through Albion Basin to Alf's Restaurant. Then a three mile loop starts from Alf’s up to Cecret Lake and back down the service road to Alf's. After completing the 3 mile loop, the short course will head down to the start/finish in the Wildcat area. The Long Course will complete the 3 mile loop 2 times and then will head back down to start/finish.
Updated Course Lengths( reflecting additional 1.2 miles)

Short Course 6.4 miles 1400ft Elevation Gain

Long Course 9.7 miles 2000ft Elevation Gain
